VISION 2026: From camera to 3D depth estimation in 30 minutes

VISION 2026 in Stuttgart was a great opportunity to showcase our cameras, demonstrate our driver ecosystem, and meet engineers working on new machine vision applications. This year, Kurokesu was the only exhibitor from Lithuania and the Baltic region. Besides presenting our latest camera developments, we wanted to demonstrate something equally important: how quickly our cameras can be integrated with modern computer vision tools.

Kurokesu cameras meet Tamron optics

Another highlight was our joint demonstration with Tamron, combining a Tamron motorized zoom lens with Kurokesu cameras and drivers. The setup showed how camera hardware, optics and software can work together in a practical machine vision system. It was also our first official collaboration with Tamron, opening opportunities to explore further projects together.

A working 3D demo in 30 minutes

One of the highlights was a single camera 3D depth estimation demo that we put together right at the exhibition in just 30 minutes. The setup combined a Kurokesu camera, our drivers, an NVIDIA Jetson platform and a neural network to estimate scene depth from a single camera image. The interesting part wasn't just the result, but how quickly everything came together. With the camera and drivers ready to use, we could focus on the actual application rather than spending time getting the hardware and software to communicate. This is exactly what we aim for when developing our camera ecosystem: making it easier to experiment, build prototypes and integrate imaging into larger systems.

What's next?

Thank you to everyone who visited our booth, shared technical questions and discussed potential applications with us. We returned from Stuttgart with new ideas, valuable feedback and interesting opportunities for future development. If you're working on a machine vision, robotics or embedded imaging project, feel free to contact us. We'd be happy to discuss your requirements.
