Motorized zoom systems

Motorized zoom systems

Kurokesu motorized zoom systems combine motorized zoom lenses, camera modules, and lens controllers into integration ready platforms for robotics, embedded vision, machine vision, research, and specialized video applications. The range includes multiple lens classes, from compact board level motorized zoom optics to larger C and CS mount motorized zoom lenses, with focal length ranges extending from short wide end coverage to long telephoto zoom ratios such as 40x. Depending on the selected system, zoom, focus, iris, and filter functions are operated remotely through dedicated motion control electronics. The lens drive train is built around controllers such as SCE2 and the earlier SCF4 platform. SCE2 is a small 4 axis stepper motor controller with linear interpolation, while SCF4 is a compact 3 channel micro motor controller designed for motorized lenses. This makes the platform suitable for custom optical instruments and remotely operated imaging systems where precise control of zoom, focus, iris, and related functions is required. Motorized zoom systems can be paired with different Kurokesu camera modules depending on the required interface and application. Development kits are offered with selected USB and CSI-2 cameras, and the broader camera ecosystem includes compact CSI-2 modules for Raspberry Pi and Jetson as well as USB camera families for host connected systems. Filter configuration depends optical train, with options such as visible band-pass "IR Cut", no filter, and NIR long-pass variants. MIPI CSI-2 Camera Modules

MIPI CSI-2 Camera Modules

CSI-2 camera modules are compact 4-lane MIPI CSI-2 cameras for Raspberry Pi and Jetson platforms. The family uses a standard 22-pin 0.5 mm CSI-2 connector together with a dedicated 5-pin connector for synchronization signals, and the modules share the same 26 × 26 mm board format across the range. Sensor options cover different imaging priorities within the same mechanical platform: AR0234 for global-shutter high-speed capture, IMX462 for low-light 1080p imaging, IMX477 for 12.3 MP high-resolution video, AR0822 for 4K and HDR-capable systems, IMX283 for 20 MP 1-inch imaging, and IMX585 for very low-light 4K imaging. IMX585 is a 1/1.2-type 8.4 MP Sony STARVIS 2 sensor, and it is widely regarded for low-light work; outside embedded and industrial imaging, IMX585-based cameras are also commonly used in astronomy and discussed for EAA, planetary, and deep-sky imaging. Filter configuration varies by variant, including standard visible-light use, no-filter options, and other application-specific choices configured in the product selection. Suitable for embedded vision, robotics, machine vision, industrial inspection, and custom imaging systems where consistent mechanics and CSI-2 integration matter. C3 USB camera

C3 USB camera

Kurokesu C3 is an industrial USB camera family with interchangeable sensor and optics options in the same platform. The range includes Sony IMX415 for 8 MP / 4K imaging, Sony IMX462 for high-sensitivity 1080p capture, and onsemi AR0234 for 2 MP global-shutter imaging. Depending on variant, C3 is available as a boxed 33 × 33 mm CS-mount camera or as a board-level module with M12 or M12L lens mount. Filter options depend on the selected variant and include IR-cut, no-filter, and 850 nm NIR long-pass configurations. C3 uses USB-C UVC connectivity with MJPEG and YUY2 video streams and supports manual image controls including exposure, gain, white balance, gamma, backlight compensation, anti-flicker, and software zoom/pan/tilt. For embedded integration, selected board-level variants are also available with a 5-pin JST-GH locking connector, with straight, right-angle, or unsoldered connector options and an optional USB-C breakout board with cable. Suitable for embedded vision, robotics, machine vision, industrial inspection, conferencing, and monitoring systems where sensor choice, lens flexibility, and stable USB integration matter. C2 USB camera

C2 USB camera

C2 is a USB camera family built around the Sony IMX290 sensor and intended for applications that need a compact UVC compatible camera with interchangeable optics. The family includes boxed CS-mount cameras and board-level M12 variants within the same platform. C2 supports H.264, MJPEG, and YUY2 output formats, together with manual image controls such as exposure, white balance, gain, gamma, backlight compensation, sharpness, contrast, saturation, hue, brightness, and anti-flicker settings. Filter configuration depends on the selected variant and includes standard visible light use, no filter, and other interchangeable filter options. Suitable for embedded vision, robotics, machine vision, teleconferencing, remote learning, and other custom imaging systems where lens choice, compression format, and stable USB integration matter.
