Website migration
After running on the previous website since 2015, Kurokesu has now completed the main platform migration.
This is an important step for us. The new website gives us a better foundation for the future: cleaner product pages, clearer configuration, improved search, better pricing structure, and new possibilities for tools and content that were difficult to build on the old system. The migration itself is done. What remains now is content work, cleanup, and further improvements across the site.
Why we migrated
The old website served us for many years, but over time it became clear that it was no longer the best foundation for how Kurokesu has grown. Product range, configuration logic, content structure, and customer expectations all changed significantly since the original site went online.
The new platform gives us more room to organize products properly, improve navigation, introduce more useful tools, and make the overall experience more consistent. It also allows us to build things that were either difficult or inefficient before, such as better online calculators, stronger global search, and more flexible product configuration.
Another reason is clarity. Over time, some SKU structure became harder to maintain, some pricing logic needed revision, and some product configuration paths could be improved. Migration gave us a good opportunity to revisit these areas instead of simply copying old complexity into a new system.
What changed
The biggest change is the new e-store platform. Product configuration is now clearer and more efficient, pricing structure has been revisited to make it easier to understand, and some SKUs have been streamlined where this made sense. In some cases product structure also changed, which means old item references will not always map one to one to the new store.
The blog is now integrated into the same platform as the e-store. Previously, blog content lived separately on WordPress. Bringing everything into one system should make the website easier to maintain and more coherent over time. Content migration is still in progress, so some older pages, posts, and links may take time to settle fully.
A few practical notes are worth mentioning: the new e-store is already online, while user registration in the old store has been closed and new orders there are no longer processed, although existing data remains accessible; user accounts are not being migrated automatically, mainly for security and GDPR reasons, and also to avoid carrying over outdated or inactive accounts without review.
What to expect in the near future
The next stage is focused on content rather than platform migration itself. We will continue refining product pages, moving older blog content, checking links, improving descriptions, and expanding site features where useful.
You can also expect more cleanup and polish across the product catalog. Some pages will be updated, some structures may still be refined, and new functionality will be added gradually as the new platform matures. The goal is not just to make the website look newer, but to make it more useful in day to day work.
Thank you for your patience
This change has been a significant step, and while the core migration is complete, the website will keep improving over the coming weeks. Please be patient while content work continues, and feel free to send feedback if you notice something unclear, missing, or not working as expected. That feedback is valuable and helps us improve the new platform faster.
